Apollo is a one of a kind LIVER BAY gelded quarter horse. Standing at 15 hands and is a 13 year old. Apollo has done his time, literally. You’ll quickly recognize the star brand originating from the Texas department of criminal justice. He is a retired prison ranch horse. He worked as a cow horse and a chore horse for the TX state prison. This horse loves to push on cows and will drag one down if need be. Apollo will always be the same horse no matter how idle he is once you pull him out of the pasture/or stall. He is forgiving for new riders but still fun for an experienced rider. I rope, jump logs, cross rivers, clear water gaps, and push cows quietly on him. He will back up with little to no pressure, enjoys riding bit less, and has no vices. He neck reins, moves off leg pressure, and will stand perfectly still locked onto a dummy if you’re learning to mange your rope loop and reins. He is a sure enough cow horse and very quiet in the woods too. He has a calm and friendly demeanor, with the looks to back it up! This marvelous gelding is the best addition to any family home. He has been used for just about anything you could think of including confidence lessons. He is extremely gentle, a true unicorn. He is an absolute angel on any trail. He will gladly walk through or over fallen branches, ditches, water, and scary terrain. He will willing comply with going anywhere you point his nose.
